Over the years, we have recorded some amazing content during our time on the original Garbage POD Podcast.
The majority of our listeners, since we moved over to Shout Engine probably haven’t had the opportunity to hear these episodes, so we have decided to re-package some of our favourite classics and give them another airing.
For this episode of TGP Xtra, we rewind back to September 2014 as Mark Taylor chats with Dave Lee from International Podcast Day in the lead up to the inaugural event.
International Podcast Day was created In honor of the 10th anniversary of podcasting and the growth in the industry, the podcasting community is going together to celebrate on September 30th. National Podcast Day, which is truly an international event, is focused on celebrating and promoting podcasting and the benefits of the media. The community is planning some amazing events for National Podcast Day. These include live streaming of the official announcement with call-ins, a Podcaster's Round Table on Google +, new podcasters releasing their first episode, regional podcast meet ups, and even a 12-hour podcasting session!
The podcast and new media industry continues to shows signs of growth and innovation. We see the growth in the transportation business, where major car manufacturers are finalizing deals with TuneIn and Stitcher to bring podcasting to the cabin. Podcasts are being shared across a variety of newer platforms in the industry as well, such as Sound Cloud and Audio Boo.
The industry, still in its infancy, is showing tremendous potential for growth.
